Celebration Day Set Menus

Celebration Day Set Menus
Just a friendly word of warning for those of you that enjoy fine, well prepared food in an ambient atmosphere and are thinking of trying out one of our 5star selections – do NOT try an establishment that is putting on a set menu for a celebration day such as Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Valentines Day or similar, as you will be woefully disappointed.
The fine food that is usually the norm in these places all goes out the window in favour of the ‘set-menu’ syndrome, for which you end up paying far more for a hugely restricted menu selection in that you HAVE to order at least two courses of a reduced selection. Set menus are in our opinion one step up from an ‘all inclusive buffet’ which in turn is one up from a pig-trough. Sure, it might SEEM cheaper, but you only get the slops that they cannot get rid of on a normal trading day.
Hey, if you prefer ‘cheap’, then by all means go for it, but it seems that many of these ‘all you can eat buffet’ establishments are now feeling the pinch – one Thai, one Chinese and one of debateable origin all within half a square mile of Nottingham City Centre have closed within a very short time of opening – one actually re-opening as a full restaurant for which we give applause and will no doubt sample in the near future now that the pig troughs have been removed. We will not be going for the set menu though!
