Antonio's
Having never had the chance to visit what was rumoured to be the best Italian restaurant in Nottingham, Ponteveccio's, we decided to have an impromptu New Years Eve dinner at the newly named, 'under new management' version, Antonio's. Situated on Trent Bridge, Antonio's is beautifully atmospheric, and the meals were absolutely top notch with mega helpings. Two minor complaints however- the staff were not very knowledgeable or helpful, and the food presentation was decidedly an English version of Italian dishes. That aside, the garlic bread and olives were to die for, and as mentioned before, the portions were huge! The cheque was incredibly low considering what we had to eat and drink, and probably represents the best value meal in the Midlands. Not one for true devotees of Italian food presentation, but for a fantastic slap-up meal at fantastic prices, look no further!
