The Inconvenience of Meteorites

At various points between 1am and 3am just now, a meteorite shower totally disrupted every UK phone network into a pile of mush.

How apt that this should happen on the 71st anniversary of The Wizard of Oz!

Could have been worse though - could have been The Day of the Triffids!

Yes, it did happen to celebrate the anniversary of The Wizard of Oz, and that why
all when all the power from the network was used to sweep all Dorothys over the
rainbow, or how else would they be swept there you know?

Never fails to amaze me how these special FX teams make things so real nowadays -

Would never have guessed it was all a huge production number!

Well of course, thats the point to amaze us and without thinking we are
swept away by special effects. But hey the world is made up from
special effects, just think about it, we are all in some shape and or form
a special effect )

The official meteorite show is apparently tonight at around 11pm UK time, when there should be around 100 shooting stars per hour.

Its The Perseus effect if anyone wants the official name, and its an anagram of PERSUES, and has the official MMs definition of - piss off and dont bugger up the phones or you'll get bloody necked thi bugger
