'Novelty' Betting Events
Many bookmakers advertise 'novelty' bets, which include the likes of snowing at christmas, the christmas number one etc, and the most recent of which being - 'who killed Archie Mitchell?' in EastEnders.
After the christmas number one (Rage Against the Machine) being predicted by MMs HQ and being virtually impossible to bet on, we once again tried to place one of these novelty bets on the outcome of tonights EastEnders episode.
Ladbrokes wouldnt take our bet, neither would Corals, BetFred, or a multitude of others. The reason? They couldnt work out a price!
Now the usual way that its worked out is the blanket statement of 'other prices on application', but it seems that knowledgeable punters are 'getting inside info' and taking the bookies for their cash. But if the bookies are not prepared to gamble, they shouldnt be offering the bets in the first place. Its like saying 'you can put a bet on some of the runners in the Grand National but we dont have prices for the rest, so you cant bet on them' - which is great if one of the outsiders comes in - they take ALL of the money.
Anyway, we got our bet on after much discussion at William Hill, who did in fact give us a 'price on application'.
Theres no insider info abounding here, but for those wanting a quick flutter before the event, we placed the official MMs bet this time on Lucy Beale.
Good Luck!

Ah well, so much for that then.
The BBC decided to go down the easy road of naming Stacey as the killer, but its obvious that shes covering up for Lucy
